Lake Region Corporation (LRC) is a private nonprofit community based organization that is dedicated to providing quality vocational, residential, and support services for people with disabilities. We provide or obtain services for people in such a way that will reduce unnecessary restrictions in life style and/or the negative stigma of receiving services. We exist to promote the capabilities of all people and allow for them to exercise their independence in all areas of their lives. Services are provided through an interdisciplinary model, recognizing that people with disabilities, generally have needs for assessment and services that cross traditional disciplinary fields.
Services provided include: assessment of individual skills, training in activities for daily living, medication administration, medical care and monitoring, language/communication services, advocating access to community resources, assistance in financial management, intervention to protect people from harm, coordination of individual personal plans, and assuring people and individual rights are protected and exercised.
Lake Region Corporation has been providing services in the Devils Lake community since 1983 and is licensed through the Department of Human Services, State of North Dakota. Since 1987 the organization has been nationally accredited by the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL). The CQL's personal outcome orientation focuses attention on outcomes that people can expect from the services and support they receive. Periodically, quality enhancement specialists from the Council on Quality and Leadership visit the agency to meet with people receiving services, family members, community members and staff to examine the outcomes of support and service provision on the lives of people with disabilities. In October 2009, LRC was awarded accredidation for a period of four years signifying provision of services of the highest quality.
